Massage FAQs
-
What is the massage room like?
The room is warm and quiet with soft lighting and peaceful music playing in the background. You may see candles lit and smell a pleasant aroma in the air. This is all done to help you relax. -
Must I completely undress?
Most massage techniques are traditionally performed with the client unclothed; however, you may decide what amount of clothing you prefer to wear for your own comfort. The therapist will leave the room while you undress, relax onto the table and cover yourself with a clean sheet. -
Will I be covered during the session?
You will be properly covered (draped) at all times to keep you warm and comfortable. Modestly draping will only expose the area being worked on. -
Will oil be used?
A natural essential oil or lotion will be utilized to hydrate the skin and prevent excessive friction to the skin. -
What part of mybody will be massaged?
We will discuss the desired outcome of your session. This will determine which parts of the body require therapy. A typical full body session will include the muscles of the back, arms, legs, feet, hands, neck, abdomen, shoulders and scalp. -
What will the massage feel like?
Your session may start with broad flowing strokes which will help to calm your nervous system and relax exterior muscle tension. As your body becomes relaxed, pressure will gradually be increased to relax specific areas and relieve muscular tension. You should immediately communicate any discomfort to the therapists so that another approach may be taken. Massage is most effective when your body is not resisting. -
How often should I receive a massage?
Once a week is most therapeutic, however, it must fit within your budget. -
Are there different type of massage?
