Teleconferences about Social Work
The incidence and prevalence of elder mistreatment is growing along with the age and frailty of the population. Elder mistreatment cuts across culture, ethnic and socioeconomic lines; the victims tend to be vulnerable and dependent on others. Both victim and perpetrators may go unrecognized by the well-meaning professionals who provide them with routine services. This teleconference is designed to help you develop the skills to address situations in which elder mistreatment is suspected. You'll learn about specific types of mistreatment, such as abuse, including physical, psychological/emotional and sexual; neglect, including self-neglect and neglect by others; and exploitation, including financial, property and medication.
